Why Descaling Has No Clog-Free Warranty

The short answer

Descaling removes scale and restores as much usable flow as is practical. Older cast iron can stay porous or carry defects that still cause future stoppages, which is outside what cleaning can control, so we don't offer a clog-free warranty on descaling.

What descaling does

Our descaling process uses carbide-chain flails to remove heavy scale, a sanding-style finishing step to smooth what's left, and a jetter and camera to flush debris and check progress.

Hydro jetting and descaling are intended to remove debris, buildup, and root masses and restore as much usable inside diameter and flow as reasonably possible. Results depend on the condition of the existing piping, and complete removal or restoration can't be promised.

Why there's no clog-free warranty

The pipe itself is the limit. Older cast iron can be rough, porous or thin in places, with cracks, offsets or trench rot that descaling doesn't change. Those conditions can still catch debris and cause a future stoppage.

If the line keeps stopping up

A camera inspection after descaling shows what condition the pipe is in. Depending on what it shows, the options can include a spot repair, a point patch, lining or replacement. Not every pipe is a candidate for every method.
